The Lee Valley VeloPark was created for the 2012 Olympics. The project was completed by Hopkins Architects and Expedition Engineering Ltd. It is an example of innovation motivated by efficiency. Roof lights reduce the need for artificial lights, and natural ventilation reduces the need for air conditioning. Rain water is collected, which reduces the amount of water used from the municipal water system.
The roof is formed with a unique cable net construction. Compared to a conventional structure, approximately 1,000 tonnes of steel was saved due to the construction based on tension elements and a ring beam.
Each bracelet is Made in USA and comes with a leather case.
